Home Visits
Home visits are reserved for patients who are truly housebound or so incapacitated that they cannot be brought to the surgery.
Home visits are based on medical need.
Please telephone for a home visit before 10.00am.
In almost all cases and also children, can be safely brought to the surgery where we have the best conditions for examination. You will be seen, treated and if necessary referred more quickly.
Doctor may contact you to ascertain the necessity of your request before making a home visit.
Please give reception staff all information required, they will need this to pass to the GP.
Please check you have given an up to date contact telephone number and that you address details are correct.
The practice now users the service of the Acute Visiting Service Team (AVS).
Depending on capacity patients will be triage by a clinician at the practice and if a home visit is required we may refer to the AVS team to do the home visit.
This team is a highly skilled team of GPs, ANPs, Paramedics they have contact with the practice GPs and will speak to the practice on site GP if required. This service is supporting the high demand of calls received in the practice.
You may not see a GP at the practice but they are aware of the outcome of these visits.
